Volubilis war eine römische Stadt nahe Meknès in Marokko. Das antike Ensemble aus öffentlichen Gebäuden, Wohnhäusern und Wirtschaftsgebäude gehört seit 1997 zum UNESCO Weltkulturerbe. Volubilis repräsentierte im römischen Reich das Handelszentrum für Olivenöl und Korn, was den Reichtum des Ortes ausmachte. Der Ausgrabungsort gilt als eine der am besten erhaltenen römischen Städte in Nordafrika. 

Volubilis was a Roman city near Meknès in Morocco. The ancient ensemble of public buildings, residential houses and farm buildings has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. In the Roman Empire, Volubilis represented the commercial centre for olive oil and grain, which was the wealth of the town. The excavation site is considered one of the best preserved Roman cities in North Africa.
